Iyengar Yoga Weekend Retreat: Asana & Pranayama Intensive

Southern Highlands, NSW (Just 90 Minutes From Sydney)

December 4–6, 2026

Deepen your practice and restore your mind at our upcoming Iyengar Yoga weekend retreat in the serene Southern Highlands. Nestled in a deeply contemplative venue owned by the Engaged Buddhists, this intimate getaway is designed specifically for students with some Iyengar yoga experience who want to immerse themselves in a dedicated environment of study and mindfulness.
Located an easy 90-minute drive from Sydney, this retreat offers the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the city and connect with your inner practice.
 
The Retreat Experience & Daily Schedule
 
Our weekend follows a structured, intensive format designed to progress your understanding of alignment, breath control, meditation and restoration.
 
Friday, December 4 
    • 6:00 PM (or earlier): Arrival & First Asana Class

Saturday, December 5
    • Early Morning: 1-Hour Pranayama Class

    • Tea Break

    • Morning: 2-Hour Asana Class

    • Healthy Vegetarian Brunch

    • Afternoon: 2-Hour Restorative & Inversions Class

    • Delicious Vegetarian Dinner

Sunday, December 6
  • Early Morning: 1-Hour Pranayama Class

  • Tea Break

  • Morning: 2-Hour Asana Class
  • Healthy Vegetarian Brunch

  • 2:00 PM: Pack up, clean up, and departure
  • Please note: To preserve the energy and cohesion of the group, all participants are required to attend all sessions.

Accommodation & Fully Catered Vegetarian Meals

The venue offers a peaceful, monastic atmosphere well-suited to a contemplative yoga retreat.
    • Rooms: Accommodation is shared, consisting mostly of comfortable twin rooms.

    • Khutis: A limited number of single-person meditation huts (khutis) are available, with access to the amenities in the main building.

    • Catering: Enjoy fully catered, delicious, and healthy vegetarian food prepared fresh throughout the weekend.


What to Bring

This is a traditional, self-sufficient immersion.
 
Linen & Towels: Please bring your own bed sheets or sleeping bag, pillowcase, and towels.
Your Yoga Gear: To support your practice during and after the retreat, please bring your own equipment:
        • 1 Yoga mat

        • 4 Yoga blanket
        • 2 Yoga belts
        • 2 Yoga bricks

Note: We practice community care and mindfulness in action, so we will all participate in a thorough clean-up of the venue before our 2:00 PM departure on Sunday.

  • Total Cost: $830 AUD

  • Strictly Limited: Only 13 places are available to keep this immersion highly personalised.

A $300 deposit is required immediately to secure your room or khuti. The remaining balance is payable by November 5, 2026.
