Interview with Abhijata Iyengar & Linda Apps – IYA Convention 2023

August 8, 2024 By yoganook 2 Comments

It was a pleasure to interview Abhijata Iyengar, the grand-daughter of BKS Iyengar and niece of Geeta Iyengar, at the Iyengar Yoga Australia (IYA) Convention in February 2023. The Convention was held at Twin Waters in Maroochydore, and was the first time the IYA community had come together since Covid. Abhijata is maintaining the Iyengar lineage, teaching in Pune at RIMYI with her uncle Prashant, and at Conventions around the world. She brings intelligence, humility, humour and friendliness to her teaching. It was an honour to speak with her.

    THAT is amazing.
Linda it’s been years since my partner Marco and I came to your incredible retreat in the Hunter Valley. You safely helped us open our bodies and tend to our injuries. We’re just returning to yoga now and my passion is the Iyengar method. We live on the Central Coast and I’m glad to see you have some retreats coming up on the Hawkesbury. See you there.
    Blessings and gratitude

Thanks Rebecca, would be lovely to see you again at one of the retreats at Yanada or even Emu Park in Queensland!
